The choir leads the congregation with an anthem every Sunday morning.
They also participate in solos/duets/trios.
Overall the choir is very active and makes the musical aspect of our services lively and interesting.
They practise on Thursday night 19:30 -20:30 at the church. Sep-April.
The Men’s Fellowship meet in the coffee lounge once a month – usually on the 2nd Wednesday, beginning in September and ending the following April each year. At most meetings which begin at 19:30 there is a speaker – occasionally a member – followed by questions then tea and biscuits usually finishing around 21:00-21:15.
The Guild, with a membership of over 80, meets in the Church hall every second Wednesday 7pm.
The programme is lively and varied with speakers, demonstrations or entertainment. The meetings are rounded off with tea and ‘a fancy piece’.
The members also enjoy spring and autumn evening outings and a day-long summer outing.
The ladies of the Guild play an active part in the life & work of the congregation; organising the Summer Fête and Shoppers’ Lunches at the Christmas Bazaar as well as hosting the Auld Kirk’s annual Harvest and Burn’s Suppers.
Our Handbell Ringers – affectionately known as ‘Broch Bells’- were formed in 2003.
This enthusiastic group practices on Thursday evenings 18:00 – 19:00 in the Church Centre and takes part in worship regularly throughout the year and entertains at the nursing homes .
Some of our members are no longer able to attend church because they find themselves housebound …… so the “Church” visits them regularly in their homes to keep them in touch with what is going on. We have a team of visitors who call regularly on a one to one basis and both housebound and visitors say how much they enjoy the visits and the claik.
This visiting is a very important part of our Christian fellowship and allows those who cannot attend Church or continue to attend one of our groups to retain a personal contact with the Old Parish and keep up with the news.
